Terms of Service

Rica only provides a technology platform that connects intending travelers with travel operators. We do not operate any bus or offer the service of transportation to the User. Rica also does not act as an agent of any travel operator in the process of providing the technology platform services.

The bus ticket booking voucher which Rica issues to a User is solely based on the information provided or updated by the travel operator regarding seat availability.

The amenities, services, routes, fares, schedule, bus type, seat availability and any other details pertaining to the bus service are provided by the respective travel operator, and Rica has no control over such information.

In its role as a technology platform to enable transactions between travel operators and Users, Rica shall not be responsible for the operations of the travel operator, including but not limited to the following:

• Timely departure or arrival of the bus;
• The conduct of the travel operator's employees, representatives or agents;
• The condition of the bus, seats, or amenities not being up to the customer's expectation;
• Cancellation of the trip due to any reasons by the operator;
• Loss or damage to the baggage of the customer;
• The travel operator changing a customer's seat for any reason whatsoever;
• Travel operator informing a wrong boarding point or changing it without notification.

• Users are advised to call the travel operator to find out the exact boarding point, or any information which they may need for the purpose of boarding or travel.
• At the time of boarding the bus, Users must furnish a copy of the ticket (e-ticket or printed), and a valid identity proof issued by a government authority (e.g., National ID, Passport).
• Users are required to reach the boarding place at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
• All tickets issued are non-transferable unless explicitly permitted by the operator.

Full Payment: Payment must be made in full to Rica during the booking process to confirm a seat. The total booking amount includes the base fare, applicable taxes, and any service or convenience fee charged by Rica.

Failed Payments: Where a request for the payment of the Fare is returned or denied by your financial institution, you are liable for any banking fees and the booking will not be confirmed.

Payment Gateways: We process payments securely via trusted partners (e.g., PayChangu, Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba). Technical difficulties on the payment gateway are beyond our direct control, but we will assist in resolving discrepancies if payment is deducted but a ticket is not issued.

• Cancellation of tickets can be done through the User's account on the Rica website or by calling customer care.
• Any cancellation is strictly subject to the specific cancellation charges and policies set by the respective travel operator.
• Rica service and convenience fees are generally non-refundable.

• Rescheduling (change of date of travel) can be requested through the User's account or support team.
• Rescheduling is an option provided only by select travel operators and is subject to their individual policies.
• Fare differences, if applicable, shall be borne by the customer. If the new fare is lower, the difference is typically not refunded.
• Rescheduling a ticket can usually only be availed once per booking.

We reserve the right to change or modify these Terms without prior notice. Your continued use of our service means you agree with all terms. If you do not agree with the modified terms, you must not use the platform.

The travel operator shall solely be liable for compliance with all laws including but not limited to motor vehicle acts, regulations, guidelines, or directions issued by the government. Rica shall not be liable to pay for any indirect, punitive, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with our services.

The terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Malawi. Any dispute arising out of or in relation to this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in Malawi.
